If a kid is being teased
They should bypass dad and mom

But may act more like a friend
Keep secrets like a sister
Someone on whom one can depend

When mom says no to something
And grandma is nowhere near
Kids can whisper to auntie
Who shouts when the coast is clear

Aunts hang onto every word
Nieces and nephews have to say
Any chance to spend some time
Is sure to make an auntie's day

An auntie gives thoughtful advice
Because they know a thing or two
Immersed in niece and nephews lives
Part of a child's cheering crew

They may appear out of nowhere
With things that make anyone feel good
Warm hugs, sweet treats, presents
So kids feel loved just as they should

To be supported by an aunt
From the first look into kids’ eyes
Means knowing true, abundant love
With no shred of compromise
