OMG it’s been a day!
Mom thinks to herself again
Hops in her van and speeds away
From work, she’s made it through — Amen!

Heading home mama debriefs
About the wild day she’s had
And in her head she argues
With her boss who made her mad

But, a major shift occurs
When she arrives at the daycare
All her stresses flush away
At the thought of seeing Baby Bear

When the two make eye contact
Both faces brighten like a light
And in their afternoon embrace
All that was wrong now feels alright

Precious cargo now on board
As they chat in the rear-view mirror
Attentive, asks the tiny tot
About their day, and she's all ears

Although the child’s reply is
Short, and oh so sweet
Hearing that angelic voice
Means mama’s heart will skip a beat

No matter the kind of day
Mom had while at her nine-to-five
She’s reminded she works hard
To help ensure her baby thrives
