siblings

Perhaps the most intriguing
Of all of life's relationships
Is the unique tie of siblings
With whom one splits a membership

It seems to me that sisters share
Their clothing, makeup, and much more
Sweet, right? But if something’s not returned
Good chance they'll bust the other's door

Brothers start with busted doors
And broken legs and stitched-up arms
And would withstand all those injuries
Just to keep their bro from harm

Big sisters act as leaders
To their pesky little brothers
Will help them out of any mess
Yet, advice in one ear, out the other

It is a bigger brother's gig
To be annoyed by little sis
But no matter what the case
Will share a tight hug and cheek kiss

Our siblings are the gateway
A shared lens to our childhood
And being close knit as adults
Will surely do one's heart some good

A brother or a sister
Become both family and friend
They are there in the beginning
And all the way until the end
