mother nature
There is a magical place
Called The Great Outdoors or Mother Nature
It costs nothing and feels divine
No matter the nomenclature
Getting outside can shift
Even the deepest, darkest mood
Like the change our bodies feel
When we eat junk, but then whole foods
Little people feel it too
Although they may not realize
So, on a day that's filled with tension
What an option to utilize
All day long, they're trapped in rooms
And for adults, it's just the same
If at some point we don't head out
We have only ourselves to blame
If we pay attention, we see
That Mother Nature's in full swing
No matter the season upon us
Mama's goodness is what she brings
A soft, warm breeze can move us
Wrapping our bodies like a ghost
It notices us there, and then
Our soul quickly becomes its host
Fresh leaf piles smell like change π
The scent declares it's getting cold
Catching snowflakes on our tongue sβοΈ
Fun for which we're never too old
Yesterday, not one flower π·
And today, they're in full bloom
Warm sunshine to graze our cheeks βοΈ
Nature's sounds, acoustic perfume
Whether we're nine or 99
When we're unsettled or confused
If we put on shoes and open the door
Our senses are sure to be amused
Mother Nature makes a guarantee
That our whole day will take a turn
If we choose to embrace her wonder
We gain fresh perspective in return
