poo diapers

Each day I take a tally
Of the poo diapers that I change
Day to day and week to week
There is always quite a range

When did the baby eat corn?
Oops! a whole peanut can't be good!
I swear sometimes this kid shits
Like the little engine that could

Is it weird that I know if
It's been two poos or six?
Gimme a break, ok, he's sick
Duck! This one's heavy as a brick

Sometimes light or dark brown
And other times yellow-ish green
They may be hard or mushy soft
Have I set up the smelly scene?

As a motionless infant
Babies can barely make a move
But once they start to crawl
They have something fierce to prove

On the good days the poo stays
Off my hands and off their legs
But the bad days, they are bad…
Stop rolling over baby, I beg!

Just when we think they’re empty
They have a different plan indeed
Sneaking off into the corner
Which means it isn't just a pee

They are lucky they are cute
Is what babies hear mamas say
As they smirk and giggle back
Then carry along again with their day
